By April 22, 2024No Comments

Kauai VOAD (Volunteer Organizations Active in Disasters) is holding a community Emergency Preparedness Fair on Saturday April 27th in Lihue from 9am to 12 noon. (see the attached flyer for details. Feel free to share and post the flyer on social media and anywhere else.)

There will be many organizations at the event that will be presenting topics on what you can do to prepare for emergencies so that you are more resilient and can possibly help others in times of emergencies and disasters.

Everyone is invited!!  There will be free lunch for all attendees so invite your friends and family to come out and learn about emergency preparedness and have lunch together.  Lunch will be hamburgers, hotdogs and chips.

One fun presentation for animal lovers will be done by the Kauai Search and Rescue Team.  Noelle and her team will be teaching attendees how the search dogs are trained to find missing people. Once the attendees have learned the search skills, they will have the attendee and the dog they trained with participate in a friendly competition to see who can find the most hidden people the fastest.
